Aw, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed reading it~ I actually wasn't sure if my explanation of keigo and the other stuff made any sense, lol ^^; But I'm happy to hear it did!
Also, thank you for the link! I'll definitely look into it~ ^_^
:O I love both Kazama's and Hanzou's voices so much, so I'm ready to have Liliana run away with Yuan now. >_>
Haha, same here! Have you seen Yuan's picture yet? I mean... I wouldn't mind seeing that happen XD Here's an image of him: Yuan picture
I think a lot of what works for me about him is the way he questions, as a character, the importance of strength.
And I think this makes him such a fascinating character since he's obviously strong enough to kill people. But he consciously chooses not to.
It's interesting to me, because reading your descriptions of how Enju's perpective on the guy changes, I think this is an aspect the game handles very well.
Agreed! I also really like that aspect of the game.
:DDD This is one of my favorite romance tropes ever, so I really enjoyed that aspect of the route. I think one interesting thing to me about this route is how much both following his heart and his duty cost him -- he has a different kind of arc than Hanzou, I think. He doesn't waver in his convictions or his devotion to Enju, but his convictions cost him so much throughout the route, and there are consequences and implications that he cannot guess.
And the Big Spoiler for his route was very fascinating to me.
Ahh, me too! I looove the bodyguard trope~ :'D Yeah, I think what makes it so powerful is that he isn't even aware of the tragic overall implications. Thus, when the spoiler shows up, I think it even further muddles the whole issue of his duty vs. his feelings. It's when his convictions gets tested the hardest, and I loved witnessing that struggle. Honestly, the whole internal conflict he faces just made me love his character so much, and the game does it so well. I'm a big sucker for these characters, lol.
I would highly recommend another otome game, Collar Malice. One of the love interests in it also falls into the bodyguard trope. His route contains the whole issue of duty vs. feelings, and it tackles questions regarding the purpose of life and what it means to live. It's one of my favorite routes in the entire game, haha.
I love the tickling scene and the one where she feeds him. :D And all the angsty scenes.
Me too! That feeding scene was super cute. I especially love how Enju knowingly goaded him, and I found his reaction afterward adorable since he's so shy and awkward about it. And definitely love those angsty scenes, too. Made the romance all the more rewarding in the end <3
On another note -- do you think you will ever write up Hakuouki?
Yeah! Hakuouki is my first and top favorite otome game, so I'm definitely going to be writing my thoughts on it =D I'm currently trying to finish up Cafe Enchante before hopping back into Hakuouki, so it might take me a while to get to it ^^;
Hakuouki has become such a huge game since I last played it, haha (not complaining, though ;D) I got about halfway through the first game (Kyoto Winds), so hopefully I can get my thoughts out on Kyoto Winds asap and get to the real juicy stuff in Edo Blossoms XP
