but all the times he explicitly referred to her as his master helped. xD
Haha, yes, he did always refer to her as his master a lot XD I found it super adorable, lol!
Also, oh my goodness, he's 40?? That's an interesting choice, I thought he was the same age as Yang. I guess Yang gets to know what it's like to feel young and inexperienced around him.
I almost wonder if Yang will even feel anything around the guy since he is "incapable" of feeling emotions, lol XP But dang, he is good-looking for being 40 years old! There's also the other guy, Rui, who looks evilly cute, and I'm morbidly curious as to how he is as a character, haha.
I'm looking forward to the new characters and how the stories will unfold in the fandisc. There are also so many guys in it that are undateable that it makes me a little sad. I almost wish there was an option to romance them >,>;
I hope this game gets translated ;_;
Yeah! I also loved how it affected Enju, where she feels responsible and complicit, and of course all the angst. And I love how it plays into Gekkamaru's struggle with his identity.
Yes, it hit me in the feels when she read that letter and felt responsible! She even had such a sad moment when she felt that Gekkamaru's feelings for her was fabricated/a lie because of the spoiler. That his feelings weren't really real, and that hit me so hard ;_; I also cried when she was saying how she would free him and hopes that he doesn't hate her afterward for what she put him through T_T The whole angst made me a weeping sob, and I loved it.
:DDD This sounds amazing! Which love interest?
Considering that Orlok is still my favorite, I think it's safe to say that a route with the whole issue of duty vs. feelings, and it tackles questions regarding the purpose of life and what it means to live. is written to appeal to me. :P
Yes! Orlok's route was so good 'cause I loved the whole struggle he went through and how he became more human for Liliana ;.; Not to mention he was just so innocent and kind, and to go through such a conflict made me love him a lot.
For Collar Malice, the love interest in the game is Kei Okazaki~ It's ironic since he also serves as a bodyguard for his real occupation, so he falls into the bodyguard trope by default XD But he also takes it upon himself and vows to 'protect' the main heroine :P Not to mention he's got that white/light purple hair, so I was totally sold on his character X'D Overall, I thought his character and route was thoroughly engaging and well-written. I'd highly recommend his route (and the game). Collar Malice falls into the crime and mystery genre, but it's got a healthy dose of romance, comedy, and heartfelt moments sprinkled throughout the game.
:D I would also be very curious about any historical or cultural notes to provide -- I think Hakuouki was the game where I missed them most.
Oh, haha, I'm not an expert on Japanese history or culture, but I will try my best when I write about it ^_^; I actually missed much of it myself when I played through it the first few times since much of what they talk about and say is untranslatable in English.
I also saw there was a thread on Hakuouki in the otome_games community, so I had to gush about it over there in the meantime, lol XD
